All you have to do to register is visit the Southgate Veterans Memorial Library and ask at the front desk to sign up. Complete a small form, get your goodie bag, and you're ready to go! You don't have to be a resident of Southgate to participate, and you can do as much or as little as you like. All adults (ages 18+) are welcome!

Simply registering for the program makes you eligible to win the grand prize drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card. Reading books gets you entered into the drawing for other gift cards, these ones worth $25 from local businesses. Winning is limited to one gift card per participant.

Our adult program is set up raffle style, and each goodie bag has all your raffle tickets already inside. For every book you finish reading, fill out the ticket with the book title, your name, and phone number. Then the next time you're in the library just find the prize buckets, and pick which one you'd like to try to win. You can go all in on one bucket, or try to cast a broader net by picking many. The maximum amount of tickets you can complete caps at eight, so once you finish your original sheet, any further reading is extra credit!

You can complete all your raffle tickets using books from the library, or use your own stash. Audio books and eBooks are included. Reading a picture book to a child (or yourself, we don’t judge!) absolutely counts. Any book you read between the dates of June 15 - August 15 is eligible, so if you joined late, feel free to backdate! And make sure to get your tickets submitted before we close on August 15th, because on Monday August 17th we will be drawing all our winners!
